"In his dual role as marketing guru for his company and head of a 12-person sales team, Steve Nassar rolls out business tactics to the brokerage after some personal beta testing.
After high school, I worked in construction for a couple of years and then got a job selling Harley-Davidson motorcycles. I was like a duck in water—I loved sales! I met many successful real estate people buying expensive toys and realized there was something interesting about their industry. In 2003, during the last housing boom, I became a mortgage broker and focused on working with real estate agents. When I saw how much time they spent answering the same questions about home buying and financing from their clients, I wrote an instructional homebuying book they could hand out up front. It was a marketing tool they could use to brand themselves, make a positive impression, and save some time."Read the full article

On most metrics, last year wasn't quite as momentous as 2016 for Portland's residential market.
New listings, pending sales and closed sales all dipped a bit while market time lengthened, according to the research firm RMLS.
Nevertheless, the median sales price grew nearly 10 percent, and many real estate firms continued to prosper. Three-quarters of the 31 firms that responded to our survey for The List of residential real estate firms grew their total sold dollar volume.
And much like our regular 'hottest neighborhoods' project — ranking ZIP codes by home sales, average price and days on market — we've crunched the numbers on these firms to rank them on seven equally weighted factors: total sales volume, gain in volume, volume per agent, number of homes sold, gain in homes sold, homes sold per agent and, finally, average sale price.Read the full article

It was a busy end to 2017 for Premiere Property Group. They opened a Bend office in August, a Salem office in November, and in January this Oregon-grown real estate brokerage hit a goal that they have been aiming at for several years — over 1000 agents and the title of largest in Oregon (and SW Washington). Eleven Premiere offices now stretch from Battleground to Salem and from West Portland to Bend. Not bad for a real estate company that started in the depths of the recession with just six agents.
Since their improbable start, Premiere’s phenomenal growth has been fueled by two things: their unique business model, and the simple word of mouth between agents that model has continued to generate.
In Bend, forty agents have already signed on with Premiere, and founding owner and President Kelly Yock has set some ambitious goals for the near future. “Our goal is to have ten percent of all agents in Bend in the next year, that’s about 160 agents, and in the next three years, twenty percent of all Bend agents.”Read the full article

The fancy floating homes we see today sprang from humble fishing shacks, anchored to river banks or plopped on tethered logs. Now, storied abodes, resting on highly engineered concrete platforms, rise to the sky.
The price: $1 million or more.
In this week's real estate gallery, we look at floating homes on the market that cost around seven figures.
Surprised? Don't be, says real estate agent Graham Marden, a broker partnered with John McPherson at Premiere Property Group. They have a floating house listed at $1,675,000.Read the full article
